What if you were running a business that offered goods and services directly to people? I'm sure that you'd bring in more than your share of customers over a period of time. However, what if a few of these customers refused to pay on time and left you several dollars short? One such instance is if a debtor is being contacted by a collector, who proceeds to threaten legal action with the possibility of arrest. This is one aspect in which a debtor is protected by the aforementioned act and it would not be committed by any sensible collection agency.

What about the prospect of misrepresentation? What if foul or abusive language is used? These , and more, are rules that a debt company should follow. What many debtors don't realize is that if they are treated unfairly, they aren't left at a collector's mercy. When it comes to one's work, no one should feel helpless.
