Among the most enticing animals you would keep at home, include a horse. If you are looking for a good horse, you need to consult people who breed and keep breyer horses.

When you decide to introduce a new animal to the homestead proper preparation needs to be put in place before the animal arrives. One of the things is that you need to ensure that your animal has a good place to stay and relax. You need to construct a stable for your horse, one that would comfortably hold two to three animals.

You should not leave the stall at that point without minding the state of its floor. You would do it wrong allowing your animals to spend their night in the hard and rough floor. Hard floors would make your animals lack sound sleep and affect adversely the quality of their belly fur. For this reason, you need to ensure that you spread some soft materials such as the straw, shredded papers, and sawdust on the floor.

Another important thing to take note of is the feeding pattern of your animal. You need to ensure that the animal is provided for in terms of all feeds it may need in order to allow for its upkeep. For your horse to remain strong and healthy, you will need to ensure a consistent feeding practice. It would be wise to feed the animal twice daily as this would allow for its proper growth.

Other things that are needed when it comes to rearing a horse are the grooming services. A horse requires regular grooming to maintain their fur in the right manner. The owner may opt for doing this on his own in which case he/she will need currycombs, which are able to ensure for proper grooming. At some point, you may also need to use bristle brushes and face brushes for the grooming. Timing is also a factor when it comes to grooming.

You should also make sure that you keep your horse warm during the cold weather and especially during the winter. In such cold weather, it would be wise of you to ensure that your horse has a warm blanket with which you can be able to keep it feeling warm.

This does not mean that you should not mind about it in summer. During summer, many people allow their animals to graze in the pastures and fields at their pleasure. However, these animals would not be comfortable while feeding to the infestation of flies that irritate them consistently. For this reason, you need to buy fly sprays, and fly masks that would help in keeping the flies away from your horse.

Lastly, give your animal sufficient clean water every now and then. This helps in the digestion system. You need also to let it lick nutritious products that have mineral salts to help it grow healthy. Moreover, after two and a half months you should see to it that the animal is administered deworming drugs to ensure that its health flourishes.
