The second standard is all about the aesthetics of the waters, which include appearance and taste among other properties. Either one or both standards are specified in certification.

Water filtering is an activity that finds use in various applications. For instance, aid organizations use them extensively to supply portable waters to victims of crises during humanitarian emergencies. Military operations that are carried out in regions with shortage of portable waters also make use of these devices. Military personnel thus carry these devices with them when going for operations.
