Plumbing is a skill of working with pipes for water and waste. A plumber is someone that puts the pipes together, unclogs toilets and also sinks. This skill pays a good amount of money and you usually have to go to school to learn how to do such things. Schooling may take up to four years.

People also use to use clay, wood, bamboo and even stone to carry waste and water to the destinations. Weather it was to their cave, hut or later on to their home. In addition to the straight pipe or tubing, many fittings that help keep pipes together include elbows and other small tubes.

Pipes are used and run under a home usually to the bathtub, shower, sinks (including the bathroom and kitchen) and also drainage systems you might find installed in a cement garage floor. Many people also have pipes run to their garage for the purpose of a shower or toilet. Piping is also used under cities for the purpose of carrying water and waste to different facilities to be recycled.

Without the help of a plumber it may be hard to be able to install or fix piping by yourself. And even if you do it by yourself you may still have an inspector come in to ensure the pipes have been put in correctly. If you have not installed the pipes correctly you may have to take them all apart to fix the problem, this would result in more money.

If you do not know how to fix a broken pipe, frozen pipe or a clog you will need to make sure and hire a plumber or read how to do it online. The demand for a plumber is so high that there is usually several in every town that is large and several in towns that surround smaller towns.

A plumber may be costly and sometimes it is a great advantage to have one in the family or to have a friend of a friend. But if you are not that lucky to know one of have one within the family, you should always make sure you assess the problem and try to fix it yourself if it is small, this will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Whenever you are faced with piping problems or a clog, you should always take precautions if you are trying to fix it on your own because you could damage the toilet, sink or piping worse which will result in you having to pay a whole lot more for replacement.
